Here’s what the corner of Longhollow and Yosemite Springs Parkway looked like prior to 10AM yesterday:

A virtuous crew, thanks to our marvelous Jeannie Cosby, got to work around 10AM.

By the time I got there, all the really hard work had been done (great plan on my part, lol).  And the spot was transformed!  We got on hands and knees and weeded up most of the rest:

Such an amazing group of workers. The energy and cooperative spirit was up-lifting.

Jeannie Crosby and Carolyn Villi had such stamina and good cheer for the entirety, Me, I had to go away for 2 hours, to rest. Don't know how those women do it, especially the good cheer part. ;-)

A question for Leslie, what are the sweet blue flowers pictured around the rock on the photo?

And a huge thank you to Leslie for sharing her knowledge, passion, and formidable energy with us.

Yes -- uplifting!

The blue flowers are one of my favorites: Blue-Eyed Grass, or Sisyrinchium bellum. They kinda work here with deer -- worth a try. Really gorgeous.

Paula I lied! It's actually Baby Blue Eyes, Nemophila menziesii, and it grows right out of our soil here. In my experience, it's one of the few annual native flowers that deer leave alone. Easy to grow -- just throw the seeds on the ground and keep them wet.
